1. About this policy
This policy applies to all orders fulfilled by Kata Camperbox to addresses within Australia. It explains how we ship your kit, what to expect, how long it takes, how much it costs, and what to do if something arrives damaged or doesn't arrive at all.
Where this policy and our Terms & Conditions conflict, the Terms & Conditions prevail.
2. Order processing
Once your order is confirmed and the deposit cleared, we send you an order confirmation by email with a unique order number. We then begin production in our Sydney workshop.
Most modular kits (Camperbox, Vanbox, Surfbox) ship within 4-6 weeks of order confirmation. Custom builds and Full Conversions take 4–10 weeks — we'll confirm an estimated dispatch date during checkout or by email.
Before we cut materials, we'll email you to confirm the exact interior dimensions of your van. This step is part of every order — no need to send measurements upfront.
3. Pickup vs delivery
You can either pick your kit up from our workshop, or have it shipped to a freight depot near you for collection.
Workshop pickup
Free at our Matraville workshop. We'll email you when your kit is ready. Bring photo ID and your order number. Address: 54 Raymond Ave, Matraville NSW 2036. Hours: Mon–Fri 9–5, Saturdays by appointment.
Depot delivery (Australia-wide)
All Kata kits are shipped fully assembled to a freight depot near your address. You pick up your kit from the depot at a time that suits you.
We don't deliver to private addresses. Depot delivery keeps freight costs lower, gives you a safe, weatherproof collection point, and avoids the access issues that come with delivering a fully-assembled kit to a private driveway.
When your kit arrives at the depot, you'll get an email and SMS with the depot address, opening hours, and a reference number. Most depots will hold your kit for 5–7 business days at no extra charge.
4. Shipping zones & estimated times
The table below gives indicative delivery times from dispatch to your nearest depot. Times don't include production time (typically 4-6 weeks for modular kits).

Estimates are indicative only. Carriers may experience delays during holiday periods or unforeseen events. We'll always notify you if your order's actual ETA differs from the estimate at checkout.
5. Shipping fees
Shipping fees are calculated at checkout based on the dimensions and weight of your kit, and the distance from our Sydney workshop to your nearest freight depot. You'll see the exact cost before completing the purchase.
All prices on this site are in Australian Dollars and include GST.
6. Courier partners
We use a third-party freight courier for all domestic shipments. The carrier is chosen at fulfilment based on your zone and the order size; we may use alternate freight providers for oversized items or remote addresses.
If your kit is lost or damaged in transit, Kata will lodge a claim with the carrier on your behalf. The refund or replacement amount is determined by the carrier on a case-by-case basis, in line with their freight insurance terms. We'll keep you updated throughout the claim process.
7. Collecting your kit from the depot
When your kit arrives at the depot, you'll receive an email and SMS notification with:
- Depot name, address, and opening hours
- Reference number for collection
- Latest date for collection without additional storage fees
To collect your kit you'll need:
- Photo ID matching the name on the order
- Your order number and the depot reference number
- A vehicle suitable for transporting your kit, including any tie-down straps or padding to secure it in transit
Kit dimensions are listed on each product page. If you're unsure whether your vehicle is suitable for transport, contact us before collecting — we can confirm crate dimensions and weight.
Some depots may require an appointment for collection. We'll flag this in the arrival notification.
8. Track & trace
When your kit ships you'll get an email with a tracking number and a link to follow the consignment. Most carriers update tracking once per business day. If your tracking hasn't moved in 48 hours, email [email protected] with your order number and we'll chase it up.
9. Damage on arrival
If your kit arrives at the depot with visible damage to the packaging, or if you discover damage when you open the kit:
- At the depot: inspect the crate before signing for collection. If you see visible damage, note it on the carrier's collection paperwork and take photos before leaving the depot.
- At home: take photos of any damage to the kit itself within 48 hours from delivery of collection.
- Report: email [email protected] within 48 hours from delivery of collection with your order number, photos, and a brief description.
Claims reported outside this window may still be considered but are more difficult to process with the carrier. For full details on remedies, see our Warranty policy.
Nothing in this section excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
10. Uncollected kits / storage fees
If your kit isn't collected within the depot's free-storage window (usually 5–7 business days from arrival), the depot may charge daily storage fees. These fees are set by the carrier, not by Kata, and are passed through to you.
If you can't collect within the window, contact the depot directly using the details in your arrival notification — most depots are flexible if you let them know in advance.
If a kit is uncollected for an extended period (typically 30+ days) and we can't reach you, the carrier may return the consignment to us at your cost. We'll then hold the kit at our workshop until you arrange collection or re-delivery.
11. International / remote zones
We currently ship within Australia only. International shipping isn't supported as a standard option, but we may quote case-by-case for fleet or dealer orders — contact [email protected] for more.
For remote Australian zones — including Cape York, parts of the Pilbara, Bass Strait islands, and other addresses serviced only by specialist freight — we'll provide a custom quote. The estimates in §4 don't apply.
