How long does a custom kit take?
From brief to ready-to-ship: typically 4–6 weeks total. The first sketch lands in 3–5 days, quote in 1–2 days after you approve the design, build itself runs ~21 days from deposit.
How much does it cost compared to a standard kit?
Most modifications add $500–$2,500 AUD above the base kit price. Major redesigns and fully bespoke layouts are quoted individually. We can also design an entire camper setup from scratch. All pricing is agreed before the build starts, so there are no surprises.
Can you customize what's in the configurator (Van Builder)?
The configurator is a different beast — it's for full conversions where we build from a stripped van. Custom Kit is kit-anchored: you're starting from a Vanbox, Surfbox or Camperbox and changing pieces of it. If you want a ground-up rebuild, Full Conversion is the right path.
Do I install it myself, or in your workshop?
Three options: we install it for you in Sydney, we ship it fully assembled to a depot near you, or you collect it from us. Go with depot or pickup and we send a full step-by-step guide so you can fit it yourself — around half a day with two people and basic tools.
What happens if the design doesn't quite work in my van?
We do compatibility checks before the quote is locked. If something doesn't fit once we have your van measurements, we redesign that piece — included in the original quote, no surcharge.
Can I send sketches or photos of what I have in mind?
Yes — the brief form has a file upload. Sketches on napkins, Pinterest boards, photos of other people's builds, anything that helps us read what you're going for.
How many design revisions are included?
Two rounds of revisions are standard. Most builds settle in one or two — we tend to read briefs accurately, and if not we'll catch it on the first sketch. Beyond two rounds we charge for design time.
Do you handle rego?
Yes. We can arrange and quote for any registration requirements associated with your build. Not all campervan conversions require rego modifications, so this will vary depending on the vehicle and setup.
How do I lock in my build?
